World Heritage means: no simply taking off
Bamberg’s old town is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is densely built, heavily visited and, in large parts, not an area you simply fly over. Flights over crowds and other people’s property are not possible as a matter of course. What can be done, I clarify before the commission — not on the day of the shoot. If a shot cannot be done that way, I say so beforehand and suggest an alternative.
What works better on the ground
In the Inselstadt and Bergstadt in particular, a camera at eye level often carries more than an aerial shot: narrow lanes, sandstone, water and light need closeness, not distance. For hosts and restaurants, most of the material is therefore shot indoors and on the street.
